Covid-19 Support Nurses Project

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Smart Health Solutions (SHS) responded to the different needs and requirements of the community assisting the London Borough of Bromley to deliver support, training and advice to the numerous and diverse care settings. SHS developed an innovative team of Support Nurses to respond to outbreak queries, offer training for PPE in the care homes and support the Public Health Nurses, who were overwhelmed with their rapidly increasing workload.

The Support Nurses worked remotely with the assistance of networking software enabling the team to provide up-to-the-minute guidance for health care staff, schools, businesses and the general public within the borough. Weekly communication ensured that the services provided by Smart Health Solutions were updated according to the demands of the service, and flexible working enabled full support throughout the working day.

Quality and Effectiveness were recognised and monitored by a daily audit and regular updates together with a competency-based approach for training our Support Nurses and the Staff within the London Borough of Bromley.

In addition to the Covid-19 Support Nurse Response Team, Smart Health Solutions also set up and facilitated the Health Protection and Care Champion Network for the borough providing all Champions and Deputies with an Infection Prevention and Control Resource Pack. Those working in care homes also received an Infection Prevention and Control CQC Inspection Folder and Prevention Infection Workbook guidance.

Smart Health Solutions provided Covid-19 Support from 2020 – 2022.
