Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome Training
Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (PoTS) is an abnormality of the functioning of the autonomic nervous system.
This training aims to give attendance confidence that they are not missing opportunities to help the patient manage their symptoms. The intention is to arm the clinician with how to support patients with practical interventions to optimise their functioning and overall well-being.
Learning Outcomes:
- Demonstrate increased knowledge of PoTS
- Identify the signs and symptoms of PoTS
- Describe how to diagnose PoTS
- Demonstrate an active stand test
- Describe how to manage PoTS conservatively
- Increased knowledge of PoTS medications

The training is a face-to-face interactive, practical half-day course

Who should attend
This training will be appropriate for any healthcare professional managing patients with long covid and/or PoTS including (but not limited to) primary and secondary care physicians and nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, and dieticians.
