This webinar is suitable for all clinicians involved in immunisation programmes, requiring an annual update, to review the theory and practice for clinicians currently immunising or advising on immunisation in their workplace.
It is unsuitable for those new to immunisations however, the Imms & Vaccs Foundation course is coming soon.
Course Content:
- Current issues in immunisation
- Recent epidemiology of vaccine preventable disease
- Any changes to vaccine recommendations or national policy
- Update on vaccine ordering, storage and administration
- Any changes to legislation relevant to vaccination
- Review of current practice, recent vaccine incidents and identification of areas for improvement
- Q&A session for problems encountered in practice
The course has been designed in line with the recommendations of Public Health England National Minimum Standards and Core Curriculum for Immunisation Training for Registered Healthcare Practitioners (2018)

Sarah O’Donnell

Sarah O’Donnell is a registered Adult Nurse. During her time at university she was a student & school representative and University Senator. Sarah went on to study a post graduate certificate in Advanced Nursing Practice and became a General Practice Nurse (GPN). In Later years she also completed her independent and Supplementary Prescribing Qualification. Sarah has worked in Primary care since qualifying, attaining all the GPN qualifications and becoming a Lead GPN/ Nurse Manager 2 years after completing her training.
Previously Sarah has chaired the CNO shared decision-making council for primary care, created the GPN SNN and worked with Smart Health Solutions on many projects, ranging from Learn with Nurses, Covid support and helped create further networks for nurses.
Sarah currently works as the Professional Lead for General Practice Nursing in Leeds, also undertaking Locum GPN clinics to support local surgeries and is a freelance trainer covering many areas of general practice training.
