Overview
Gain the knowledge and confidence to deliver high-quality NHS Health Checks. This comprehensive course explores the purpose of the programme, the impact of health inequalities and every stage of the NHS Health Check process. Delegates will learn how to interpret and communicate cardiovascular risk, understand the significance of results, respond appropriately to clinical filters and deliver effective brief advice that supports patients to make positive lifestyle changes.

- Identify modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors for CVD.
- Know the NHS Health Check filters
- State how CVD risk (QRISK) is calculated

NHS Health Check Refresher (9.30am - 12.30pm or 1.00pm - 4.00pm)

Designed for healthcare professionals who already deliver NHS Health Checks, this half-day course refreshes knowledge, reinforces best practice and provides updates on current guidance.
Overview
This refresher course builds on the knowledge gained during the Understanding NHS Health Checks full-day training. It revisits the NHS Health Check Competency Framework before focusing on cardiovascular (CVD) risk, QRISK communication, GPPAQ, AUDIT-C, dementia prevention and awareness, and the latest programme updates.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, attendees will be able to:
- State why NHS Health Checks are important and how they should be conducted.
- Identify modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors for CVD.
- Know the NHS Health Check filters
- State how CVD risk (QRISK) is calculated
