National Training provides scheduled live online study days, updates and clinical refresher sessions that individuals can book throughout the year.

Bespoke Training is tailored around your organisation’s needs and can be delivered online or face-to-face. In addition our core NHS Health Check programme, we can include practice-specific skills, clinical topics, lunch and learn sessions and other tailored content.

This comprehensive course explores the purpose of the programme, the impact of health inequalities and every stage of the NHS Health Check process. Supporting providers to confidently deliver NHS Health Checks that make a difference.

Designed for healthcare professionals who already deliver NHS Health Checks, this half-day course refreshes knowledge, reinforces best practice and provides updates on current guidance.

Overview

This refresher course builds on the knowledge gained during the Understanding NHS Health Checks full-day training. It revisits the NHS Health Check Competency Framework before focusing on cardiovascular (CVD) risk, QRISK communication, GPPAQ, AUDIT-C, dementia prevention and awareness, and the latest programme updates.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, attendees will be able to:

  • State why NHS Health Checks are important and how they should be conducted.
  • Identify modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors for CVD.
  • Know the NHS Health Check filters
  • State how CVD risk (QRISK) is calculated

NHS Health Check Clinical Elements (Half day)

Supporting providers to confidently deliver NHS Health Checks that make a difference.

Designed for healthcare professionals who already deliver NHS Health Checks, this half-day programme focuses on interpreting findings, clinical follow-up and best practice management of common conditions identified during the NHS Health Check.

Overview

The NHS Health Check will help identify individuals who require additional clinical assessment and follow-up. This course focuses on guidance on best practice clinical follow up and further assessment that may be triggered by the NHS Health Check risk assessment . 

The so what next bit, includes AF, blood pressure, cholesterol, CKD and familial hypercholesterolemia.
