Overview

This refresher course builds on the knowledge gained during the Understanding NHS Health Checks full-day training. It revisits the NHS Health Check Competency Framework before focusing on cardiovascular (CVD) risk, QRISK communication, GPPAQ, AUDIT-C, dementia prevention and awareness, and the latest programme updates.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, attendees will be able to:

• State why NHS Health Checks are important and how they should be conducted.
• Identify modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors for CVD.
• Know the NHS Health Check filters
• State how CVD risk (QRISK) is calculated
• Appreciate the different CVD risk (QRISK) communication strategies
• Appreciate the complexity of GPPAQ and AUDIT-C 
• Know what is needed for dementia prevention and awareness

We recommend completing the full-day training before attending annual refresher training to maintain knowledge and confidence.

Course fees can be transferred to another Smart Health Solutions course and must be used within six months.

Unfortunately, refunds cannot be offered for non-attendance (DNA).
